Frimley & Mychett

Places around the Basingstoke Canal

The Basingstoke Canal bisects these two communites. There is quite a lot to see and do around these places and the canal forms the link between many places of interest here.

First off is Frimley Park. This sits alongside the western edge of the Basinstoke Canal and occupies most of the western space between Guildford Road brodge and the canal centre.

On the north side of Frimley Lodge Park, almost adjacent to the Basingastoke Canal at Guildford Road bridge (seen at right of picture with car crossing over) is the Kings Head, a Harvester Pub.

The canal’s history is detailed on the walls of the centre, with old photographs and a detailed map covering the canal route across three walls.

Near the centre is Potters Pool, technically another flash formed by the waters from the canal. Its a wildlife haven and access to it is not signposted, but if one can reach it they wil be rewarded with things like the narrow casueway and makeshift bridge across the pool.
