London’s waterways history is comprehensively covered within these pages.
Its simply an upgraded version of the older HTML site which began around 25 years ago. Some pages do get updated however Its not intended to be a blog and remains purely an amateur site.
There’s a fair bit of missing stuff – including the River Lea before it was canalised, the Basingstoke canal from Woodham to Greywell, the entire Wey and Arun canal from Shalford to Pallingham plus the Portsmouth and Arundel/Chichester canals, also the Stort Navigation, the Royal Gunpower Mills canal system and the Grand Union’s branch from Bulbourne to Wendover.
